This book deals with the study, development and characterization of a CMOS integrated planar 2D fluxgate magnetometer. The key elements of the sensor are its amorphous ferromagnetic core cleverly combined with a single excitation coil and a pulsed magnetizing field. High sensitivity and high performances have been achieved with this new device for low power consumption. The sensor fabrication uses a CMOS standard process and a CMOS compatible post process. Such an integrated magnetic sensor has wide applications as electronic compass, current sensor or proximity sensor.
